I think as soon as it was unveiled companies started doing it. Or maybe that was for the S.

Well the S still had a “grille” and later a moustache.
3 is just a gigantic piece of solid plastic, basically a blank canvas for you to put any sticker, NASCAR style. Heck if you don’t want the Aston Martin grille, you can photoshop the Ford Fusion one on instead.

That does look good!
Although, a vinyl might look tacky. I say cut a hole and put in the real deal!
